Costco Members : WiZ Wi-Fi LED Strip Starter Kit, 13 FT (2m+2m) + free shipping $14.99

Costco has their Wiz products on sale.
They have their Wiz LED strips on sale:
$29.99 - $15 Discount = $14.99 +tax with free shipping.

- Includes the AC adapter and switch + 2m + 2m led strips, so 4m (13ft) total
- Voice Control With Alexa, Google Assistant And Siri
- Easy to Trim for Desired Length
- Operate With WiFi - No Hub Needed
- Set Schedules and Timers

WiZ is made by Philips, the same company that makes Hue (and Lumileds, one of the biggest LED manufacturers in the US). The brightness of these strips is equivalent to that of Philips Hue (1600 lumens/2 meters). WiZ only works via WiFi while Hue only works via a ZigBee hub. The software on WiZ is not as great as Hue, but it gets the job done. You will hear varied opinions on color quality. Some say it's the exact same as Hue, some say it's worse. But it is certainly better than the colors of the 10,000 random LED strip brands you'll find on Amazon and the like.

I can't compare to Phillips hue, but I have several of the Phillips branded Wiz Connected bulbs, which I assume are the same as these just branded differently exclusively for Home Depot. Anyway, the bulbs I have are great- nice and bright, super crisp colors and vibrant colors. The app is crap, but I rarely use it. Just use Alexa and it works great.

Thanks OP, bought probably more than I'll need Smilie

These are essentially the same as the Philipz Wiz branded light strips that Home Depot sells, although the Home Depot 2M Kit with power adapter sells for $45, this kit is 2M + 2M for $15:

Of course, Philips owns WIZ now so not certain if WIZ branded (non Philips) products are just getting cleared out, or if they will continue to be sold through other channels such as Costco. That said, these will of course integrate into the WIZ app along with any of the Philips branded WIZ products. Great price considering 4M for $15 shipped.

Is this in-store only? Might want to add YMMV in the title since inventory and stock can vary quite a bit between stores.

edit: nvm, link didn't show up on mobile

Whats included in the box? In the Home Depot version linked, the user manual shows power supply as well as motion sensor. Is that true for this kit from Costco as well?

Edit: NM - OP states Power supply and switch included.

Thanks,

The Home Depot version does not include a motion sensor, but does include the 2M light strip, power adapter and control box. The kit from Costco includes the same, but also includes an additional 2M light strip that can be attached in series making it 4M total in length.

My house is full of Hue, but I picked up some Wiz recessed lights due to the price difference ($17 v $50). The Hue app is much, much better. Wizconnects to wifi while hue uses zigbee protocol - this makes no difference to me, but may if you have bad 2.4 ghz spread. The colors on the Wiz seem overly bright and less crisp, with less fine adjustment. There are fewer Wiz accessories like switches.

I will be buying Hue as much as my wallet can afford, but can see some use for the cheaper wiz lights.

Just received my order today. These are indeed the kind of LED light strips that are sort of molded in silicone as opposed to just LEDs on a flat strip. Also, the package does say 'Suitable for damp locations' and recommends an operating environment temperature ranging from -4 degrees to +95 degrees Fahrenheit. Based on that, I'd say using these under your balcony should be fine.
