My wife and I both have access from the app and can use it simultaneously. The background feature is nice, you can use other apps or watch YouTube videos with it still running. It has a night mode so can leave the video feed playing while you sleep- your phone will dim but not lock. Great if you need a quick glance but preserves battery life. The free year of Nanit insights is good. We used the video activity feature often to keep track of when he went to sleep or woke up (this is the video clips feature that are saved through out the day that you can look back on).
We used the floor stand instead of wall mounting because we wanted to be able to move it around the house if needed. At this price I would have just bought two (which I just did).
There are some quirks- sometimes (rarely) video will take a while to load when opening the app. WiFi has been pretty stable but not perfect. But it's nice it hosts its own local connection if WiFi goes down. The app will crash (rarely) and you just reopen it. The video clips aren't 100% reliable. Sometimes it will say he woke up and the video clip is just him sleeping. We didn't use movement alerts or anything but may in the future as he gets older.
It runs in the background. there's a little audio icon you have to tap twice to cycle it to turn on background audio. I have my phone's screen off but I still hear sound. It does drain my battery but not a big deal if my phone is charging.

Ya what I'm trying to say is it clicks every time I open the stream and the lights are off and continue to be off. I wish it would just stay on night mode.
I'm still on the free subscription year, but I would imagine the background audio is not part of the subscription since it's not part of the "Insights" reports. The button shows up on the main camera screen. "Insights" gives you recordings up to 2 days so I assume that affects saved alerts, reports, and their Memories feature that compiles some videos you can share. Since background audio is not a recording feature, I assume it's not part of the subscription then (but RECORDED audio is).
