They are about to release new models. Buy with caution.

I'd be surprised if it doesn't come out within 4 months.

I'm thinking the new cameras will be very competitive on price, they have some tough competition these days.

Nest cameras are the best, I have tried every other brand and I've been happiest, by far, with Nest. But I'm not buying any more until the next announcement.

Do you have a guess on the timing of the new releases? I can't find anything besides "2021".

I got one from target for the same price plus 5% redcard discount. If its gets discounted further once the new model comes out, I will return and rebuy.

Several nest items seem to be out of stock for the last couple months or going for half price this week. Bet we'll see an announcement soon. Not sure about shipping timeframe though.

I have this and wyze. Not sure the quality difference is worth the extra cost on this one. Just my opinion but might depend on how you plan on using

I agree. Our new home was wired front and back for doorbells. I did a simple upgrade at the box and I'm running the Hello in the front and back. I also have 2 Wyze cams in service and for almost 2 years now they have been abysmal with notifications. I've done everything they've suggested. I have Nest wifi throughout my home, all wired via ethernet. It's a Wyze issue and forums are filled with complaints. . So I'm hoping nest has some good prices on their new items.

Yup. Also, that 4k one is never on sale. I need something with higher fidelity.

These current models are actually great cameras. I have Nest security cameras + Nest Hello Doorbell. What isn't great and I would caution is the support and the app since Google purchased Dropcam. The Nest app always worked excellent for me and I was very happy with it. All notifications were sent almost instantly and everything worked. Then recently, Google started pushing people into migrating from the Nest app to their "Google Home" app. Since then, I have had nothing but issues, notifications stopped sending or were sporadic. I was missing important motion and people alerts at my door. I finally had enough and switched my doorbell camera and security cameras to Ring. Now everything works and plays together well in the app.

Google seems to really focus their attention on the Nest Thermostat and the security cameras seem to be neglected. I like that Ring / Amazon are constantly updating and improving their software, the app and the cameras.
