Does this use the same GPS mount as the V2?

Never been rear ended but always hear about people who hit and run, and they'll be caught on the front cam but always nice to have footage from the rear.

I have the duo non-2k set up with my hatch. Need a bit of elbow grease to run the wires through the existing covers but it's worth it.

No. The gps mount from V2 would not work with V3. But this comes with its own GPS mount.

I'm in the same boat (in need of a rear cam). So I just got this as my rear cam. I'm thinking it might work if I hook it up to a solar powered battery pack.

Not sure I can recommend that. I'm not hardwired just ran the provided cable through my car and tucked it under the trim. Just have it powered via USB outlet

Bought one in Feb from Adorama for $9 less, and loved it. Will buy another one at same price or maybe the new version with WiFi

Mine completely kills my radio reception when connected to a charging port. Pretty strange. Disconnecting it from power restores radio reception immediately, so I'm not too keen on hardwiring it just yet. Otherwise, works perfectly, but I haven't come across anything worth saving the video of since I got it. Just your run of the mill idiots cutting off semi trucks, running red lights, changing lanes without signaling, but no wrecks or wildlife acrobatics.

Mine is hardwired and radio reception is solid.

Try connecting it to a power bank or anything not on same fuse as radio via usb and see if you still have radio reception issues

I have the Viofo A129 Duo, the A129 IR Duo, and two A119 v3 that I mount on the front and rear windshield. My current favorite system is simply using two single-channel dashcams, one mounted front and one mounted rear. This also allows me to have more storage as I can max out the card size on both dashcams. Also the A119 v3 resolution is noticeably better as compared to my A129. Bottom line, I consider two dashcams the minimum for a vehicle and if you have a teen driver, you need a 3rd interior dashcam. I set up my teen's car with a Viofo A129 Duo IR plus a spare garmin on the rear.

I will admit that a front facing only dashcam will likely cover you over 90% of the time, so don't get hung up on perfection and just buy the A119 v3 on sale.
