Agreed; that was a big miss. I am not buying it without a discount, esp. on Prime Day!

I got a single Eero 6 to add to my set of two Eero Pro (previous gen). My plan is wired back-haul across all of them, but I noticed an improvement just putting the Eero 6 on the main floor. Just sharing in case anyone is wondering if mixing them is a good or bad idea. I've had great results and has me questioning whether I even need an Eero 6 Pro at all. Seems to me that the primary benefit is increased distance without dropping. I can't overlook that an Eero Pro 6 would likely result in a low-value increase (for me) in that I'd have WiFi at the edge of my backyard. I primarily went with the single Eero 6 to benefit WiFi 6 streaming devices in my main living area so I don't have to run CAT6 to my fireplace mantel for good streaming speeds. I don't need it in the den because those are connected to a gigabit switch.

Basically, I love my Eeros -- just a recommendation you consider your unique needs if you have a desire to not overspend for gains which in the end could be negligible.

I would think most people don't need the 3 routers unless they want the 4 extra ethernet ports for edge devices that can't handle WiFi. 1 router + 2 extenders is currently $181. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085WSCTS4/

Apparently with the chip shortage they are having a hard time actually making them. No supply no sale.

Just got the non pro version and really like it. Glad I finally upgraded.

After tolerating my Nighthawk AC2100 with occasional dropped connections that kick me out of work meetings for last few months, I nearly got an Eero mesh last night but decided against it over high price (even though great deal) and the one I was looking at had complaints about parental controls which I need. I bought TP-Link Deco S4 Mesh. I don't feel great about my decision, but just happy to have made a decision. And I changed the channel on my Nighthawk 5Ghz and didn't get a single drop today so might have been for nothing!

Why buy the multiple routers package over the one router & a few extenders bundle?

More on this please. I'm considering as well. Thoughts on this deal vs that tp-link deco Costco deal recently? Are these extenders listed on the deal you are referring to the same as mesh setup?

I think the routers have in and out ethernet ports for wired connections. The extenders I think don't have any ports for wired connections so they just extend your wifi mesh bubble.

Is 3 router setup better or 1 router with 2 extenders better? Is there any other benefit apart from extra ports ?

The biggest difference between eero 6 & eero pro 6 is dual band vs tri band. This makes a huge difference in terms of achievable speeds because the dual band must use the slower band or time share the faster band in order to relay traffic back to the main router. Tri band you have a chance at somewhat quick wireless backhaul, but it's almost always best to do wired backhaul.

Experience: I have had eero pro x3, upgraded to eero pro 6 x3, and have put eero cupcakes (specifically because I could wire backhaul, using gocoax adapters) at a family's house where nothing else has ever been stable.

I recommend using what speed you are paying for from your ISP (and what you are actually getting) as a guide for what you want to buy. I've noticed the eero is not so good with general WiFi speed so if you are paying for higher speed than what the eero can support then you may want to go with something else. And yes eero with extenders is still considered a mesh setup.
