BUT if you intend to use it with safelink then you can get the phone for less from amazon for $35. the 'deal' in this thread for $52 includes a year of prepaid service on tracfone with very little data (1.5gb). Safelink is 3gb a month for free if you qualify. Why pay for the tracfone airtime if you are not going to use it?

With an older Snapdragon and 2GB RAM the battery lasts forever on standby. You can leave this in your car on standby for a week easy. It will still have a lot of juice. I could probably do two weeks come to think of it.

Can anyone get WiFi calling to work with tracfone?
Yes, I use Google voice no problem and it does not affect my Tracfone minutes. I'm using a BYOD which is a GSM phone and not the usual CDMA phones supplied by Tracfone.

My mother just informed me that her trackfone ran out of
her year worth of minutes/service.
Not sure if this is better than adding minutes to existing phone.
She only uses for emergency, since where she lives has no coverage from any carrier.
So when traveling into town, she has a way to call if something comes up.
