Today only woot has this ups for the best price I've seen it.

Price includes a today-only extra 10% off for prime members. To get the discount to show up you need the following:
1. Use the woot app.
2. Sign into app using your Amazon prime account (not woot account)
3. In checkout, verify your address

After these 3 things the extra discount should show.

This is refurbished, but the notes say that the batteries have been replaced.

Seems like a pretty good deal for a simulated sine wave 810w ups.

I would be personally hesitant to buy a refurbished UPS, but I will welcome anyone who wishes to educate me as to why my fears may be groundless.

These units are absolute shit. They sale at Costco for $100 new and batteries lasted me for 2 years. I replaced batteries with some Apex crap and they lasted one year. I give up on this brand already

Yeah, seems like everyone has a bad experience with one UPS or another.

I had the same experience with an APC unit, and terrible customer support to boot.

But I too would be hesitant of a refurbished unit, regardless.

I have 2 CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD units...one is 10 yrs old and the other is 4 yrs old and have had zero issues with them. Amazed the 10-year old one's battery still works!

+1

I have both 2x APC and 2x CyberPower; sinewave are and simulated sinewave ones. Never had a problem. Batteries last about 5 years for me.

Worth noting the page says batteries were replaced as part of refurbishment.

I was hesitant, but went for one anyway this morning. I have another one that looks like this, but not sure if the model number. I have 3 APC brands ones of various sizes. All seem to work well, and batteries die after about 4 years. Had an outage today for 6 hours. Found that 2 of the APC ones need new batteries.

A used/refurbished ups concerns me. Nice it has new batteries but what about the components that clean the power? I don't know just my two cents is all.

These use sealed lead acid batteries which will eventually expire even when they're never utilized for a power outage. Awesome that yours are still working but remember to test them under load to ensure they will protect your gear adequately and for the duration you need them.

A little off topic, but don't forget to protect appliances like a fridge, which cost me more than my tv

Don't think fridges need protection. Main thing in a fridge is the compressor which draws a lot of power when it kicks on. The UPS may not support the draw. Also compressors are pretty robust and not susceptible to fail with surges unlike delicate electronics like TV's and computers where boards can short very easily.
