These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.
Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.
We get it..you watched the new Netflix documentary too.
Actually not... not all news comes from Netflix and Tiktok and facebook like some people may believe...
PS: Did you read how Wells Fargo recently got caught in yet another one - this time they only had to pay a fine of 145million... (where does that money come from? I don't think the CEO pay will be decreased any...)
WELLS Fargo? 🤣🤣🤣 Dinged my credit report when I got turned down with an 830 credit score. Only time I was ever turned down by a bank in my life.. No thanks... Im surprised they are still in business. Shouldn't their top dogs be doing time with Big Bubba in Cell Block C?.. Pfftt... $200 bonus to the peasants...no thanks Wells Fargo... Ya'll need an embargo
"$200 bonus to the peasants"... Dude, your post was literally you crying that you couldn't get this deal. Lmao you played yourself.
Now I know why people said "they are evil": I submitted an application 5 days ago, got an email saying "We need to verify a few pieces of information...", today I called to check the application status, was told my application got declined! I just checked my current FICO score (after their hard pull for this application), it's 820+, and I always paid full credit card payments, not even a single late during the past 10-15+ years....
My FICO is 795 and they approved me for 18k. Not sure why you weren't able to get it.
has anyone got their 200 cash back yet? Is there a special process? I bought a dryer for ~1k back on 7/11. Still haven't received the cahsback in my rewards center yet.
I got my $200 in points instantly once I charged 1k. I actually wasn't expecting it that quickly because it said that you had to wait a few weeks for it to show up.

Based on all the complaints of that crap bank, I'm glad I didn't get it. A free $200 if it were easy, which in my case, and anyone over 800 pts credit rating with essentially no dings it should be easy.. Sure that's a deal.. But not with that crap bank.
Any WFB branches in Los Angeles that offer the $250 signing bonus?
Not sure about LA, but I got the $250 bonus offer at the nearest branch to me here in the Dallas area yesterday. The personal banker there indicated that it should be valid at any branch.
I opened the checking account and the credit card at the same time and have had no challenges. Bonuses on both paid out as promised and credit card bonus was fast compared to most. I did it in bank and have almost maxed it out enjoying the 0% for 15 months. Making minimum payments and keeping the $$$ in Element Financial bank earning 4% on up to 20K. Requirements are super easy at that bank to earn the 4%. Just make 16 transactions a month--so I'm making small payments on my credit cards or transferring small amounts to my other checking accounts. Wells Fargo does limit how many credit card payments you can make from their website. Your use of credit cards will determine which is best for you. This is paying 2% on everything that I've charged including home owners insurance which my other 3% credit card wouldn't pay.
The clowns at the Los Angeles Wells Fargo branches don't know anything about a $250 Credit Card Bonus for applying in branch nor were they willing to inquire. Anyone in LA have luck?

I should've added that the first rep I spoke to at the branch was also clueless. She asked her coworker who knew exactly how to look it up on their system and I then applied with her and was out of there in less than 10 minutes. I specifically asked and was told the offer was good at any branch. So it's quite likely it's because the personal bankers you dealt with there are clueless and/or just too lazy to look it up.
FYI on this card from hells Fargo. I like to pay of my card as cards show but you are only allowed 4 times a month to make payment from a non Wells Fargo account

Only credit card that does this smfh
I am more interested in why you want to pay more than 4 times a month. Looks like debit cards are perfect for you.

I'm with BooBooo. While I'd love to believe that were the case, they have to earn back the trust of the public. And unless you giving ME that fine money, you ain't earning back my trust anytime soon.
It also sounds like those press releases police station heads give: "This won't ever happen again, we put him on 2 wks paid time off for shooting and killing an unarmed dude that didn't have any criminal history whatsoever"
