Patently false
Reputable manufacturers specify the luminosity according to the ISO 21118 standard. Projectors on Amazon selling for ~$100 post luminosity figures without specifying conditions. In other words, they're marketing BS.
Also, resolution and brightness (whether falsified or accurate) are not the only metrics that determine a good image.
If you can point me to a ~$100 projector that is 1080p+ native and has more than 2500 lumens according to the ANSI or ISO 21118 standard, I'll eat my words and consider buying you a beverage. Otherwise, please stop trolling.

I guess I should have ordered from eBay. I had ordered from Epson store 3 days back and have not received a tracking number yet. Customer support is not of much help regarding this delay. :|
Just got my shipping notice today.

I received my Epson refurbished 2150 today. It has zero lamp hours. 😊

BTW, I'm impressed by the picture quality. Coming from "8500L" projector, I can see huge differences in picture quality, focus, and quality in general.

I was reading through the specs and it says it has "up / down" and "left / right" adjustments. So let's say I have the projector slightly elevated and at a slight angle horizontally. Could I adjust my picture to be perfectly flat? I got a cheap Vankyo this time and now I want more haha but it only has the "up / down" focus I think where if I elevate it I can move the screen to being "flat" again ... but I have to be perfectly straight at the wall.

How is the manual focus as well?

I'm assuming the 'auto focus' variety are in a much more expensive price range ...
Unsure of your setup, and you may not be able to get a square / rectangular image on your surface. In that case, yes use Keystone or Warp (different models use these interchangeable words)

However, you're will lose much of the 'crispness' with even one step of Keystone due to the averaging of pixels across the light engine. You should try to avoid this at all costs IF you're really trying to get a non-casual experience, or maybe critical viewing. Max out your lens shift and see if that gets you to a place where you can mount the projector.

Has anyone had heat concerns after using for a long period of time? I want to make a 14 X 12 viewing room and wondering if this would crank out too much heat.

Never had a projector. Quick question. Does this projector allow projection from behind the screen? We are looking at a hot tub setup and were thinking about putting the projector on the table behind the screen which would be attached to a gazebo. Thoughts? Is this possible with most projectors?

Yes. It's called rear protection. It's listed in the specs as supported.

(Edit: 2 yrs later after discontinuing the PJ the lamp is now $59 shipped from Epson)
Great 1080p projector for rooms that are not light controlled, it's a light cannon. I've noticed you get some flickering before the lamp fully goes out so you'll replace them more frequently however the lamps are much cheaper than any other projector I've seen ($59 shipped from Epson) They go out of stock fairly regularly so keep one on hand... It's even acceptable for casual FPS gaming (for a projector) bought it for $700 new 2 yrs ago and have no regrets.
I bought this about 3 years ago. It's good... One can enjoy a movie and stay warm on a winter night. This thing puts out a lot of heat. It's almost like a hair dryer the way it's blowing out warm air.

I usually have to keep the room fairly dark else the colors are washed out. I would say that one wouldn't be able to enjoy the viewing experience in a will lite room. I found it annoying even when sunlight was seeping in from the sides of the curtains and onto the viewing area (wall.) Because I have ill-fitting curtains, I would usually wait until after 7:30PM at night to be able to use the project and enjoy the experience. If your room has soft white light bulbs, the viewing experience will be better vs. sunlight but any light really causes a wash out effect (light from another room, etc...)

Do you think it's something about the technologies within this projector? Or purely a light output / Lumens situation? I think this puts out 2500 or so? The 3000 series seems to push over 3000. Not sure how much hotter that would run.

I agree that it feels like a warm fan / blowdryer. I ended up using regular brightness / eco mode and its noticeably less in terms of sound and heat, but nonetheless compared to my Vankyo (yes I know comparably it is crap but $86 bucks was a good deal for what it is haha) it is much hotter (and brighter).

By the way are you projecting on a wall or a screen? My wall seems fine but I was considering getting a white or silver screen if that helps boost colors / brightness at all. (Plenty bright and vibrant colors already).

Hmm, as aureal asked: What kind of screen are you using? And how far are you throwing the image? (The closer the PJ can be to the screen the less light is lost / less effect outside light will have) also I forgot to mention but for my install /opinion I'm using a 1 gain grey "silver ticket" screen from ~10 feet (using grey screen for the same reason I opted for the wireless version of this projector, to maximize contrast.) You're spot on on the heat though, I assumed that was likely due to the wattage of the lamp so I'd imagine most LCDs of equivalent brightness get as warm, but I've only had Epson projectors in my spaces so can't say for sure...

I have received the 3700. the picture quality look good. It does produce good amount of heat. We have an option to change the power consumption to lower so that it will generate less heat. At least, I have an option to make it bright or not. Overall, it is a great projector for $650. The color looks cleaner than Epson ls300. I bought both and returned LS300.
