So buy a couple of these then upgrade to game pass ultimate for a $1. I bought a 24 month back in 2019 from Costco for $94.99 so this is probably the closest price currently. Does a 12 month for $40 range happen often?

I have not seen a 40 buck option in about 2 years.. I may have to jump on this as mine is going to expire in October.

Does anyone know id these codes will be good in a couple of years? I'm seriously tempted to buy the limit of 5 and just add the limit of 2 years every other year. Anyone tried that?

Just keep in mind that if you've already converted to Game Pass Ultimate, then you buy and add Gold code to your subscription, the service will convert the Gold into Ultimate at a certain ratio.

For example, if you have Ultimate right now, and you add a 12 month Gold, the service will convert the 12 Months of Gold into 4 Months of Ultimate, and then add 4 months onto your Ultimate subscription.

So to calculate the value of this if you have Ultimate: $50 / 4 months = $12.50/month

Wouldn't you just let it expire first, then add gold and upgrade gamepass again? Worked for me last year.

I'm kinda over the gamepass games for now though, have to clear backlog and hopefully decent games will show up by then

Did you get a whole year of GPU after letting it expire and using the gold 12 month code?

Isn't 36 months the limit?my subscription expires today, so tempted to do this again. Although I'm still on Xbox one x and I don't even use it. I only just add the free monthly games

If you've already done the Gamepass upgrade can you add time onto the end of it with this method?

Edit: Someone answered it - seems like your Gamepass has to expire to get the $1 conversion to work.

Still have over a year left on Game Pass so this isn't a deal unless your Game Pass is currently expired.

This is correct.

In the same boat but really thinking of just canceling since it's rarely used nowadays.
