First of all, dont use this for coffee.

Spend a little more and get the Cuisinart SG-10. If you blend a lot of different spices you want to be able to clean the bowl out really well.

Agreed. Get a nicer hand grinder if you want to have a decent quality coffee grinder. If you want to stick with electric, getting a baratza encore is a good start but its just a bit more expensive than this.

If you do go with this as a coffee grinder, I believe the trick is to shake them while grinding to attempt to improve the uniformity of the grind.
