Jesus christ... at this price point, you could just buy your child an old car to take apart and put back together.
For a different perspective, I did this set off and on for 2 years with my 2 boys (8 and 6) who are LEGO fanatics. Lots of other sets in between, and we'd take a month off if it got too tedious or we wanted a change of pace, but absolutely got our money's worth in time spent enjoying it.
I like thinking about Price per piece but as Lego know people think about it, it is kind of meaningless now and easily gamed. I have the Mos Eisley Cantina and there are so many places where 1 simple piece is replaced with 4-6 different pieces of the same color I'm like bruh this is Pieceflation if I ever seen it.

I'm asking because idk. At this price this is just for collecting & never opening it, right?
Otherwise how big is this & why is it worth $750?
Yes. Of course I gave my sibling a set and they gave it to their kids who opened it, saw all the pieces, and threw it around and never out it together 😂

Certainly many do that, and especially with this collectors set. It's a huge set, 7500 pieces or so - price per piece is pretty good as legos go. If you're into legos and enjoy the build, then for many it's worth saving up for. It's unusual to find at msrp, let alone $50 off that.

Once you start opening and putting these pieces together, you won't finish this in 24 hours. TOO LONG.
Source: I luckily bought one from Amazon for a steal price. Received and found out that my brother in law WANTED this badly more than me. So instead of me holding on to it, I let him have it as a surprise Christmas gift and his wife paid me the actual cost. Definitely worth to see him being beyond excited.
