Do you live in a neighborhood that someone tries so hard to be the coolest dad in the neighborhood? I do. He bought one of these on clearance at Walmart in 2019. He installed it in his basement during the winter. The first use was when all the neighbor kids came over to have a "pool party" in January. One of the girls climbed out of the pool, slipped on that wet basement concrete, feet went up in the air, and cracked her head open on the floor. Now when I talk with the other neighbors, he's referred to as "daddy dipsh*t". Dont be a daddy dipsh*t.
real pools are surrounded by concrete, what are you on.
I have what seems to be the same Intex pool in a different color scheme (white outside) purchased ~ 2018. Works great for children. For adults, it's enough to sit in and cool off. I would not want more than about 4 people in it at a time.
The main issues are: the plastic pins that hold the metal frame together tends to break when you disassemble at the end of the season. The filter gets dirty and pretty much clogs fairly quickly. So, you'll need to change it every few weeks.
Got the grey version from lowes for $118 minus the filter which is fine since I ordered a sand filter that should work much better. The included filter is one of the main complaints for these. Looks like prices went back up though. If your interested in this just do a google search for intext 10' pool every few days and you'll probably find one from walmart/homedepot/lowes/etc for the lower price.
How's the quality on it though? My neighbor bought a Summer Waves inflatable and the vinyl was just a bit more rugged than a garbage bag
My sister bought this pool recently for $300, but its a $100 pool. Covid inflation for sure. This pool is garbage. It's really meant to use 1...maybe 2 years and then throw away. My sister did her research before she bought the pool and most reviews stated to try and install the pool on a concrete surface with the supplemental padded squares at the bottom. My sister bought the foam pads used for working out and placed those underneath her pool on a concrete surface.
The reason people say you should install this on a concrete surface is so you can easily see if there are any leaks. Leaks due to a micro puncture on the underside can't be seen if it's installed on a grass surface. If it's leaking at the bottom and the pool is on a concrete surface...you'll see wet concrete all around the pool. Which brings me to another point. I say this pool is trash because most reviews you will see people mention these pools are known to have small leaks and my sister's was no exception. Luckily she did her research and bought gorilla tape. Anywhere she saw a pinhole size leak...she patched it from the inside using the gorilla waterproof tape while the pool was filled with water. It worked extremely well.
The filters are also trash. Many people recommended buying 2 filters, because it's guaranteed to fail before end of summer, so having an extra filter would be a good idea.
I recommend buying this pool if you're buying it expecting to get no more than 1-2 years out of it. Its not a high quality above ground pool and the material isn't very durable.
