You also hike faster if you paint a Type-R logo on it.
So perfect for most buyers ;p
I don't love these boots but generally speaking, you don't always want deep treads. If you hike in conditions with steep smooth rock, shallower treads are better since they give you better grip (think downhill on steep rock). For wet or very loose conditions, you want deeper treads.

Nice find, but the soles don't look that great for trail hiking - barely any grip/tread. Would work well as urban athleisure/performance gear on pavement for city-wear.

I'm struggling to envision an uglier pair of women's boots. Suggestions welcome!

Good point! Truth be told we're of the trailrunner vs hiking boots school, so I really shouldn't be commenting at all.

I hear it's better if you paint your timberlands black.

Reviews just don't seem encouraging. I'm sure they work for some feet, but seems they don't work for plenty. Gotta have that comfort when hiking. Most good shoes/boots are comfortable from the beginning. At least in my case.

I'm a guy and just bought a pair for myself. If you're a woman though, I can see why you wouldn't like them. They're pretty comfortable though.
