Yes, they can definitely game, but not as good as a cheaper gaming laptop with a full powered RTX 3060.

Oh dang.. this is really tempting. ability to upgrade both sticks of ram is quite nice. but the price is also close to the ROG M16.

Ever since I switched to AMD laptop and M1 macbook, I got no heating issues like xps always used to run hot. Is the newer processor any better in handling heat?

The 10nm based Tiger Lake H series is better than Intel's previous generations, both in terms of performance and power efficiency but in thermals and efficiency, Ryzen is still better. Sad thing is Dell doesn't use AMD in their premium productivity laptops. You have to ho for Lenovo or Asus for such high end AMD based productivity machines.
