This is dual band. Is it better to get triband?

If you don't have a wired backhaul do tri-band.

i've heard mixed reviews on dual band vs tri band... Some people have said no difference in speeds on wifi6 with the tri band.. I'm kinda new to this and hence would let the experts chime in.. since i was looking for one and saw this on the new costco flier I posted this..

Tri-band would allow the units in the mesh to dedicate a band to linking each other without taking up your capacity. If you are dual band and Meshing wirelessly, I assume most people, then their communication comes out of the available bandwidth.

I guess that depending on your broadband speed and what you need your system to do, some people have local storage where they shuttle files back and forth or serve videos, it might not matter. For instance, until recently I had a 100Mbps connection and didn't have a need to shuttle large files back and forth across my network. Truthfully, I could live with the suckiest speed network as long as it's stable and above that ISP speed.

I think for most people that don't have massive broadband speed, large amounts of smart devices, and a need for network file transfers, wireless coverage through multiple units will do what they need.

Just got the eero 6 three pack at BestBuy for $180. But that's only one router and two add-ons. I think I'm having buyer's remorse...

How does it compare to the Eero 6 at costco?

My TP-Link COVR-3902 seems to be on its last legs (The extender won't connect anymore) and they stopped providing support at the beginning of this year. It might be time to jump to a newer system; I just hate to stay with T-Link given I only got a few years out of my current one.

I also HATE setting up new systems. There always seems to be an issue with at least one or two of the devices.

I'm guessing the 4th unit in the Costco buy is an add-on. Costco price is $279. I think BB price is actually better!

I circled around TP-Link several times (especially because of the great deals at Costco) but their record on firmware updates is pretty bad.

I just set up the X60 and connecting the 2nd and 3rd units were trivial. I basically plugged them in and they self connected to the first unit. Had to wait a few minutes for firmware updates and it was done. Pretty close to magic.

Wi-Fi for Eero is max 500 Mbps where as Deco x60 is 2400 Mbps and has ports for back haul . For many ppl ethernet ports on the 2 extenders are very critical.

Setting up the units, themselves won't be an issue - I've got ethernet cable run to where they will go. I'm more thinking about all the devices I've got connected to the network.

For those trying to decide between the Deco M9 Plus 3-piece kit at Costco (tri-band, not WIFI6) or this Deco X60 3-piece kit (not tri-band, but has WIFI6), I would say that if you're choosing the X60 for WiFi6 that you might be disappointed.

In my home (3 people, streaming video periodically and a half-dozen cams and misc IoT devices) we have Gigabit Internet and having had the M9 Plus (all units wired) and the X60 (all units wired), the speed increase was minimal and nowhere near getting what I get from a wired desktop PC (about 940 down). I expected much more from WIFI6. I stuck with my X60 despite the additional cost.

Knowing that now, I would have probably just stuck with my M9 Plus set (it was 70 bucks cheaper) until TP-Link comes out with a WIFI 6E (I think that's what it's called) system and there are more devices (like phones, iPads, etc.) that can utilize that speed.

Also, both have excellent range/coverage and speed. I have not noticed the X60 being significantly better or worse in that respect.
