Ryobi & Ridgid deals are looking solid right now @ Home Depot (many are "Deal of the Day" )

Many great deals for those in the market, though some "deals" barely qualify to be called such. If you're not seeing a Ridgid tool deal listed in the link posted, there's a good chance it might be on sale anyway.

A word of advice: Before you place an order at Home Depot, check DTO (directtoolsoutlet.com) to make sure your they don't have it in stock at a better price for "Factory Blemished" units (aka brand new, unblemished).

Also, they've got some cool car stuff -- up to 50% off, including battery backups w/ a jump starter.

I noticed the Ridgid stuff is their Octane line. I've read those are being discontinued. Any issue with compatibility in the future you know of?

All ridgid 18v batteries are compatible with all 18v tools, forward and backward.

They are compatible but won't provide Octane performance.
