There are definitely going to be some reasons you don't see this exact form factor from a reputable manufacturer. If all you need is some AC outlets and a couple of USB integrated together your best, cheapest option is in the power strip form factor (think short cord).

For something that plugs flat into the wall consider this highly rated option from Tripp Lite [amazon.com] or a comparable solution from APC [amazon.com]. If you must have something closer to this stick form factor Belkin has an option that is UL-listed [amazon.com].

Good luck!
Jon
The 2 USB ports share a maximum 12W output.
Buy a triple tap AC adapter and a separate USB adapter that are both UL-listed for much less. Or spend slightly more for a comparable (if different form factor) product from a reputable manufacturer that bothers to get UL-listed products for anything that incorporates an AC outlet.

If it says Anker and it has an AC outlet... HARD PASS.

Good luck!
Jon

Any feedback on these? Bang for your buck? I like a couple of these for the family when traveling- something compact to expand outlets. Thoughts from the community?

Looks pretty straightforward. I would prefer one with more USB power and surge protection, but at this price and formfactor, I don't see a better option from a reputable company. Seems fine for a light-use case like a bathroom outlet

Ouch, way too low. Darn like the form factor a lot.

- No surge protection
- 12W max output only enough for one device
- No PD or QC (whichever fastest charging technology your phone supports)
- Not UL/ETL certified

This is a like an expensive extension cord that also charges one device. Extension cords are kinda awkward already since they are technically fire hazards (not supposed to be used long-term) but now you add stuff that makes it more awkward...

Why a hard pass? Genuinely curious as I have several Anker surge protectors/power strips in daily, heavy use with zero problems.

Is this the new 'sale' price for the past few months? Everybody wants the greatest surge protection and more power from the USB, but it may cost a lot more. I like the long cord that tucks behind the couch for random tablet/laptop chargers that come and go in the area of the room and don't need a long strip as not many devices are charging at once. Been using it for a while with no complaints.

Could be good to throw in the laptop bag for travel. I bought one of the last deals which was 3 AC outlets plus 2 USB on a short cord. I like the cord gives extra length to my surprisingly short laptop charger cord... but it takes up more room in the bag.
