Both are true statements.
RAM is 2x4 so if you add a single 8 , one of the 4s have to go out

Well, not everybody simply require high quality display or spending over $600 just for getting a higher quality display, isn't it? The problem is that you guys try too hard to portray your requirements or choices over everybody, saying that nobody should do that or those or everybody should do something which you like.
I own this laptop as well as a much higher specced Lenovo Legion with a 100% sRGB screen and honestly love both. They're for different uses really. These 5500U machines are really power efficient and can be easily powered by a 60W car or lithium battery pack PD connection, something that can't be said for the legion and the 230W power brick requirement. For working on the go and coding an shiet, who cares if your Netflix colors don't pop? Give me battery life, amazing power efficiency as well as modern processor muscle all in one low cost package that isn't a wally world EVOO or motile or gateway. Bonus points for Dell's very sturdy aluminum screen cover and robust new hinge design on the Inspiron 15 lines.
You were not pointing out the cons but trying to portray that the screen is completely unusable because it is not color accurate and only 250 nits brightness. If you really wanted to point out the cons, just mention the actual details like Color gamut coverage, brightness and what kind of works can't be done on this which normally I do. But saying words like "It's garbage", "Nobody should Buy this", "You won't be able to look at the display", not really helping a single person here but it is show off of your personal preferences over everything.

It has two memory slot and each are occupied with 4GB stick. So, for adding any memory, you need to replace those first. But it is upgradable and you can add 64GB total by using two 32GB stick.
The Display is same as you see in this price category....and it is good for normal usage. Just don't expect the same quality from a $800 Laptop.

Oh wow so I can replace with 8gbx2? This is a great deal if the screen is passable. I don't really wanna drop $1300 on a laptop

It depends on person but 45% sRGB with 220 nits in 2021 does not deserve to exist

That was what I wanted to say... but didn't have the guts to do so.... some people are very touch when you badmouth their beloved Dell laptop screens. Frown Frown Frown

To be honest, it's a perfectly acceptable screen... for 2015.

Yeah I can see that 250 is so much better than 220 😀
It's fine as long as you haven't used one with a good display .. but once you do you just can't go back..

So if you have been using these displays then sure it's a deal but if you have seen better displays, do not even bother looking into this
about 10 years ago, my former boss had a brand spanking new Bentley... I got to drive in for 2 months while he was in Europe. I was supposed to fire up that bad boy once a week and drive for a couple of hours around town. Ever since then, EVERY car that I've owned was boring. (as of today) Frown Until someone posts a front page deal on the $250,000 Bentley, I guess I'll have to continue driving boring cars for the next 20 years. Frown
