I'd be careful with being too cheap with these weighted blankets. People don't realize how much of a mess they can be if they break open and they're crazy hard to clean. Most of the time dry cleaning is the only *good* option. Also if they break open a million of these little glass beads go flying everywhere so if the stitching is sub-par or it gets old then you can have a real mess on your hands.

I tried one of these once upon a time and hated it so I definitely think they're overrated too; plus all the other downsides listed above.

Agree with what you're sayin', tho I and my wife love the weighted blankets we've used for close to two years (we use a different brand than in this post so can't comment on this one).

I'd also add that many of the cheaper ones don't "compartmentalize" the beads well (e.g. via internal stitching) such that you get a lot of shifting of the weight during sleep, which ends up defeating the whole purpose and leaves you with a big 'ol hassle at the worst time (middle of night when you're tired). Again, not saying anything about this one either way -- I haven't used it -- but just something to consider in general.

Is this one bad though?

Mine (the 15 pounder) ended up dropping beads (not many, but plenty) all over the place and went promptly back in the box for a return....Wasted a perfectly good mid day nap opportunity since I had to clean it up. Be careful, give this thing a few shakes facing up and down and see if beads come out. I see no damage so I'm going to assume it's just crap and not bother with an exchange.
