Not sure the lol, but the iPhone 6S and 7 still qualifies for the future iOS15 update.

And, a great cheaper alternative to newer expensive phones that require expensive insurance for protection against damage or loss.

To be honest I would not buy a phone that is 6 years old even if it is new and this is refurbished. Upgrading to a newer version will just slow the phone further, so yeah at 100 this is too steep for a 6 year old phone.

Spoken like someone who has not used a 6S or SE (original) with the latest iOS.

While these phones are not quite as responsive as an iPhone 12 and have smaller screens, they are still TOTALLY useable and offer a decent experience.

The cameras are also not nearly as good as a modern flagship but are still decent.

It's not so much the phone but the operating system….some people don't live on their phone but want something they can pick up and use and go about real life. They could careless what the other people on the buss think. The only caution flag is the life expectancy of the battery … you'll pay more than $100 to have a new battery installed.

I just locally sold my iPhone 7 after using it lightly for 2 years. It's a decent phone but the battery life is barely ok (it was at 92% capacity) and it was quite sluggish. I used it sparingly and had a few email and workplace apps only. No social media/ video or anything heavy. The phone managed to keep up but barely. On some apps like yammer or teams or would just hang up.

So yeah it's a good device for kids or elderly person maybe who would use it lightly.

If you're willing to jump through hoops and can pay some more I'd rather go for the iPhone SE or Xr or 11 deals that keeping showing up here.

I disagree on the "TOTALLY" useable piece. As a phone sure - but the general responsiveness seemed very sluggish - so much so that I upgraded and I am happier. It could be due to Apple's battery throttling stuff - but I personally would not trust these guys when they say that battery is at 85% capacity.

Obviously everyone's experience will vary but my girlfriend uses my old iPhone 7 with the latest OS and uses it without issue - not sluggish - no issues with social media or video - battery life is fine.

She's actually been hesitant to upgrade because it works fine for her and she doesn't think a newer phone would be worth the money.
