What was their reason?
BB has a specific, very short, list of online retailers they official match to.

They will also match local brick and mortar stores (including online pricing from them, but they have to have a physical location within some relatively short radius of the best buy)
You can occasionally find a salesperson who does not GAF and will lie that they're price matching to one of those when you bring in a shady seller (I got a top end plasma in 2013 super cheap this way because the manager knew it was the end of the line for plasma and he wanted it gone so he took some crap bait and switch websites price but entered it into his system as "price match to amazon
But it's not common.
