The M12 fuel kits are really nice for almost all jobs you would have. For tools like the impact driver, the M12 Fuel seems to score above the M18 non-fuel. When you "upgrade" to the M18 Fuel you assume the extra weight and likely still won't be able to do a job the M12 fuel couldn't. At a certain point if you're a prosumer and the Fuel won't get the job done, then you should probably revert to using the corded tool for the task instead of just saying "let me buy a 18V (insert number here) cordless tool. If you've got an edge case tasks where the M18 Fuel could do a job the M12 Fuel couldn't, then you're probably at the very limits of what the M18 can handle and you're much more likely to hurt yourself or break the tool. At that point I'd rather use a corded tool that has more than enough power to do the job and without huge effort / struggle. Cordless tools should supplement your other tools, not be a complete replacement for them.

I think M12 is more than enough for most people. M18 for prosumer or people who use the tools nearly every day

YES! This is the second of lowest price it's ever been on SD.
The best price was a price mistake at $99 and that was shortly lived.
Are you talking about the price mistake from last October?

Your supposed to get the free M12 Ratchet and return it. Sounds like you bought the kit at full price.

with all these M12 deals, has anyone had issues unloading the tools if they're just keeping the batteries?

Earlier this year it was about $155 from the 6ah pro rata

It's better to just get the impact kit with something else; the hammer drill should only be used to do holes; even though it's 1/2" Chuck; it performs like a 3/8" Chuck

An update. I had the combo for pickup and the ratchet for delivery. Cancelled the ratchet no problem. 2 hours later an email from HD that the entire order had been cancelled. I guess I should have picked up the combo then cancelled the ratchet? Maybe I'll try again.

It seems that the extended reach rachet (not part of this deal) is the more versatile tool to have. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

If you want to keep the bonus item but return the main item, does that work and get you the bonus item at the discounted price?

You still have to pay sales taxes.
