For those who don't know, vinegar and baking soda "cancel out" as chemicals. You really shouldn't combine them (to make a cleaning product anyway)
They actually do work wonderfully together but in the right process and solution. For example, in laundry, if you just add a cup of each in the load at the same time, you're basically cleaning with saltwater because the chemical reactions do void or neutralize the strength of each individually. There will be some initial bubbling which does sometimes help dislodge soil particles from surfaces or materials without hand scrubbing, but the real strength is in the process. Carbonate clings to soil particles between fibers in the fabric and when the vinegar solution gets involved the off-gassing literally finds its way towards the surface, dissolving and diluting the soil in the process which is removed entirely during the 2nd rinse cycle.

Add the acidic vinegar into the prewash, where the bleach cup fill line is. Then add a half cup of baking soda to the detergent tray along with soap/detergent (naturally fragranced with lavender, etc). Then using the same detergent cup with residual soapy fragrance (don't use this cup for the baking soda in the previous step), add a little more vinegar that mixes with the residual soapy fragrance and add that as a softener, so the rinse cycle has some slightly fragranced vinegar to dissolve and releases the remaining carbonate, if any, clinging to your laundry will rinse thoroughly. So its vinegar (acid), soda (base), vinegar (acid). The result is really fresh laundry because there's no way for bacteria to remain active after this chemical wash.

When you eat oranges or lemons, take the peels and put it in a large glass jar with vinegar. This can help ease the smell of vinegar and adds citrus oils to the mix. Keep adding until it's topped off and the longer it sits the more the peels release its oils, gradually turning the vinegar into a light orange color and giving it a better scent.
Not if you have granite or some other natural stone countertops.

I think that the concentrate [amazon.com] is a better deal IMHO if you do not need the spray bottles.

Is there any reason to combine the two? I tried it before as someone recommended on SD to remove stains and it didn't work.

Anyone else having problems with s&s on Amazon. It wants to ship immediately instead of adding to a monthly order. It's still offering a 5% discount but I will never hit 15% like this unless they have changed something
