Not a big deal to most I'm sure but the documents it creates are not valid in Louisiana...

Is this good enough to create a Living Trust in CA, or still better to have an attorney do it?

I created my trust using online paid tool (NetLaw) however there is no difference between attorney created and online tool generated. I have seen trust document of my friend who used an attorney. I have even funded my trust and the trust document was verified by Banks, Country (for moving home into trust). Did not have any issues so this should be fine IMO.

$53.xx is for the "Starter" version, which does not include living trusts.
For trusts, you have to bump up to the "Plus" version which is $77.xx after code.

We bought the 2015 one and it no longer works. It says some nonsense about how the laws have changed and so it won't let us create a will until we upgrade to a newer one. 🙄

General advice, if you have young kids, you should have a will, and it's not important how sophisticated it is. However, if you have a sizeable estate/assets and you are concerned about taxes, you should consult an expert.

You can probably borrow this from your public library.

So you compared two complex legal documents and came to the conclusion they are the same? Yea so all of us should be fine.

What was your timeline, time and money required to do living trust?
Married, homeowner, with kids, in California, looking at creating living trust and moving house into it.

I purchased "Quicken Willmaker Plus 2018 Edition: Book & Software Kit" for $54 but have not had time to do it yet (I read it but got a little scared to proceed). Is an online tool holding your hand more firmly so that one ends up actually doing it, not just buying the book?

Thank you
