Heads up to everyone, but it seems Yubico has added a binding arbitration clause on Jan 1, 2021.
https://www.yubico.com/support/te...agreement/

You can "opt-out" of the arbitration clause within 30-days of your first purchase. It is in your interest to opt-out of the arbitration clause.
It's worth noting that support for hardware-based authentication is considered a premium feature for many services; for example, if you use the password managers LastPass, Dashlane, or Bitwarden, you must upgrade to a Business, Premium, or Enterprise plan to enable a security key as a second factor.

Its like putting a strong lock on your door. Will it be more inconvenient than leaving your door unlocked? Yes, but thieves will tend to go for the unlocked digital accounts. Not everything needs to be protected in this way.

Would recommend it for things that would really screw you over if someone were to take over like your main google/apple account, your password manager, or crypto accounts.

When I used these in the past I felt I did so inefficiently and just made my life suck.

Agree with some comments here. Its up to you to maintain a good security hygiene by doing simple things such as setting complex, long passwords, using a password manager such as lastpass/bitwarden helps. I use password manager to keep complex passwords and this key as 2nd factor on the password manager.

I use one of these on my LastPass account. Basically I have one complex password that I remember to login to LastPass then I have to use my Yubikey as the secondary authentication. From there I have unique passwords for all my accounts that are generated by LastPass. With the Yubikey it makes it extremely unlikely that my account will be breached. Even if someone gets my main password they still cannot get into the account.

One of the best deals I've seen on a Yubikey 5 that doesn't require you to buy 2 or more. Thanks OP!

I know I should start using 2FA but losing it kinda scares me if I'm on the road traveling. Then I'd have to wait to get home to use backup codes. I can't use this in conjunction with a 2FA app (like Google or Authy) right? I think it's one or the other. I'd like to use one of these keys, then have a app as backup. Maybe someone could shed some light with what the best setup is for me.

It's $27.5 each, not $22/

You can buy 1 or 2

The picture shows 2, but for $27 you only get 1
