$200 for a really solid OLED-equipped phone. The launch price was nuts, and probably really played a factor in early reviews [engadget.com].

I personally can't stand the edge design (which is why I jumped from an S8 to a Pixel 4 and my other Samsung right now is an S10e). But that's a personal preference and for the money this is a LOT of OLED screen for not much cash.

Otherwise this is a fraction of the price of competitive phones from Pixels to Samsung S series. This is a potentially great daily driver phone at a very good price (for Verizon customers).

Good luck!
Jon

There's not a lot of information on this deal. Does this require activation with Verizon and will it be locked for 60 days? Also, can this be paid off early or does it require 24 months with Verizon?

When I bought the phone myself, it came with a sim card already inserted, ready to activate with Verizon. When I log into my Verizon account, it says that I currently can pay off the phone with cash at a Verizon store, and after a few weeks can pay it off online.

Sorry, wish I knew more about MVNOs. No idea, I'm on normal Verizon postpaid.

According to this review https://www.techradar.com/reviews...ull-review they make it sound like it might not work with an MVNO, like it's locked to Verizon.

Thanks. Might not be the most amazing deal but it works for me and my situation. Anyone know if it's possible to avoid the 35$ upgrade fee? Chat with Verizon?

You can try to chat with Verizon, but it's not common to get the upgrade fee waived these days.

Heck of a phone for 200 bucks and it definitely wins all the beauty contests. Would be really nice if you can pay it off right away and have it unlocked.

Nobody is mentioning the screen problems this phone has had? Still, at this price and with Motorola readily replacing phones with bad screens, it's tempting.

I can just swap to my existing Verizon sim and go right? Anyone with gUDP use a 5g phone like this successfully?

I'm not sure you can just swap in an already activated SIM card, though I'm no expert. I tried that about 2 years ago on a new Moto Z3 (a Verizon-exclusive phone) bought from Best Buy, and it didn't work. Then when I swapped that SIM back into my original phone that it came from minutes before, it no longer worked there either. I had to contact Verizon to activate the new SIM, and then that worked fine in all my Verizon phones as it should, and I discarded my old SIM.

Because I could do the SIM swap you're suggesting into a brand new carrier-unlocked phone around that time, my guess was that a Verizon branded phone wants to be activated somehow differently than an unlocked phone, like maybe it wants to be activated with the included SIM.

Without real knowledge, I shouldn't even be answering, except I know how valuable that grandfathered unlimited plan can be.
