I eventually settled on the P31 as doing the most with a gen 3 interface with the benefit at doing so very efficiently. I usually clone over to a new drive because I get the bargain basement sized 256GB drives. So also working as a boot drive with zero issues.

I wonder what they can do with a future gen 4 NVMe?

Beware! Their after-sale service is horrible/non-existent. The SSD I bought started malfunctioning after Amazon's 30-day return period and after I contacted SK Hynix, they kept asking me to contact Amazon (!). Once I contacted Amazon, Amazon said it's not common to return after 30 days and it will have a restocking fee. I reached out to SK Hynix again about that and then they started giving me a run-around again until I gave up after 7 back-and-forth emails.

Amazon is not set up to do warranty return/replacement. They will take returns according to their policies like for any other product. Like any other product, you can contact seller via email and hope they take care of it. In other words getting warranty service beyond the Amazon return window is huge YMMV.

Good products but with no direct retail facing support either avoid the product or assume no warranty beyond Amazon return window unrelated to SK Hynix.

If they start a retail direct RMA feature for warranty services, then these would be highly recommended.

Using two of these , 500gig - OS drive , 1TB - most used games drive , on a 5900x/3900x system . No problems thus far being a recent/few months AMD build .

Amazon does offer tech support for some of its products; you need to actually open up a chat with a tech rather than a CSR. I had an issue with a CPU cooler earlier this year that was replaced after 45+ days. That only goes for up to 90 days though, and the fact they expect you to go through Amazon at all makes me want to avoid SK Hynix.
