You may want to check the ddram compatibility carefully because mostly you will be charged a restocking fee for a return with newegg

You may need a new MoBo if it can't even take Crucial 360mmhz kits..

What is a good way to check compatibility? Motherboard's user manual?

As an FYI, I believe these are all single rank now, if that's something that will impact your purchase decision

doesn't that just mean that only one side of board has chips?

no? that's single side, not single rank.
Single Rank Memory can be memory with chips on only one side of the memory module (stick of memory) or chips on both sides of the module as long as the chips are in one rank that is accessed while writing to or reading from the memory. Dual Rank Memory is basically like having two Single Rank chip ranks on one memory module, with only one rank accessible at a time.

single rank can be slightly faster with tighter timing.

All else equal, I've heard and read that you want dual rank memory because it leads to better overall sytem performance (3 to 9% depending on system).

There's no conflict, at the same speed and same timing, dual rank is a bit faster because a processor can access twice the bandwidth available (the processor is still 64-bit so accessing 128-bit memory interface only have limited benefits). But a single rank memories can often be overclocked faster with tighter timings.
This is especially important with overclocking Samsung b dies.

Is there a way to find out? Sometimes manufacturers don't disclose that info

This article sheds a lot of light on this .5% performance boost must have or throw my comp in the trash argument.

Yes, for running 4 sticks single rank (which this should be) is a good thing
