Dell 130W laptop adapter, $20 + tax after coupon + free shipping at Dell

This deal is for a very specific interest and is sort of roundabout, but nonetheless, if you are looking for a spare Dell laptop power adapter, this will net you a 130W one for $20 + tax. The adapter may be refurbished--not new, but there's an equal chance it may be new, too, based on my past experience.*

The story is that dellrefurbished.com is selling their E-Port Docking Station model PW380 for $20 after coupon. This docking station includes a 130W power adapter. If you have a Dell E Series Latitude laptop with docking connector, you can use the docking port, too. But if not, at least you have the 130W power adapter.

Link to the PW380 Docking Station is:
https://www.dellrefurbished.com/i...380/1.html

Coupon code is "PW380DS50", which will take off 50%, and give you free shipping, too.

* I have order several laptops and micro form factor desktops from dellrefurbished.com over the last couple of years, and despite the machines themselves being refurbished, the power adapters that were supplied with them were brand new. I can't confirm that one way or the other for this deal as few details are provided, but even a used 130W adapter for $20 is a good deal.

This deal may be eligible for up to 2.5%* at Dell Refurbished in Slickdeals Rewards (Cashback) via the Slickdeals Extension

One note--Dell uses different size barrel connectors on their laptops. It's not clear what size is on this 130W power adapter as the model of the power adapter is not included. I guess one could check the specs on the PW380? Whatever the case, if you do have a different size barrel connector, a physical adapter should suffice because this will be a genuine Dell brand part. I only mention this because if you try to use a non-Dell power adapter with a Dell laptop, the machine will recognize it as such. And once that happens, it will only use enough power just to keep the machine running, and not charge the battery at the same time.

It's definitely a couple of bucks off for sure, but it seems like the 130W adapter is $27 on amazon? I personally need the 240w adapters.

if for some reason the barrel plug doesnt fit your laptop you can always purchase a short pigtail adapter from ebay for a couple of dollars.

There are a lot of fake adapters out there too. Even ones that have dell stickers. I don't order laptop adapters from Amazon or ebay because of this.

I am a IT manager for the company. Recently got rid about 40 of these for free because I did a laptop fleet refresh. These works great for older dell laptop (precession m4700 and e7270 for my case), make sure you get the right power adapter or just use your laptop charger.

So that giant proprietary connector is like a dinosaur compared to USB-C?

USB-C also let's you swap laptops, Samsung phone, Samsung tablet and iPad pros. Surprisingly it's hard to connect my desktop without spending a bunch on a card.

So many people not getting the point that you're getting a genuine power adapter for $20 and the dock is irrelevant. I was excited until I double checked mine and saw it's actually 240 watts.
