My pair stopped charging after about 9 months. Adult owned, never traveled with it, stayed on a headphone stand on my desk when not in use. I tried multiple cables but consistently had issues getting it to charge.

Outside of that, it was okay in terms of build quality and sound. Comfort could be better, but for $100 it's not particularly uncomfortable.

It's frustrating that steelseries didn't update their Pro Series USB stuff to be compatible with Xbox Series X. Microsoft did say that their console would support USB audio.

Microsoft worked with Astro to update their existing USB headsets to be compatible with Xbox Series X/S

Dude, I've had a lot of different headsets in my time, and my Arctic pro wireless headset is trash. Like I cannot hear any footsteps the way that others can. I've tried so many presets with no luck. Just a let down IMO. I traded my astro A50s in for it and regret it 100%

I have the Arctis 7X, I can use it with the USB-C dongle, on my Xbox Series X, XBox One, PS4, PS4 Pro. and my Windows 10 desktop computer. Great headset to pick up, the 7X can be used on everything.

I think it should reduce the price further because it is expensive.

I've been so close to buying these multiple times over the past few weeks.

The thing that keeps me from doing so is this model is a few years old already and does not have USB-C or Bluetooth connectivity, which I realize is not common for gaming headsets, but is something I would prefer so I can use these on my PS5 or PC and also easily take calls on my mobile without taking it off.
because bluetooth 5.2 will fix many of the inherent issues, just wait.

I have an Arctis 7, here's my review:

Pros:

- very comfortable
- good battery life
- good range
- retractable mic

Cons

- bad audio quality. It's fine for voice chat and gaming but it's obvious steelseries didn't care about music, which sounds muddy and ruined.
- micro usb. See below post for magnetic charging workarounds.
- if you tilt your head forwards, it has a tendency to slide off (doesn't stay on your head too well)

Overall I regret buying steelseries and wish I'd gone with a brand that pays more attention to sound quality. For $100 I expected more. I have to use 2 headphones now, one for music, one for gaming.
To all that are reading about bad audio, you need to get Peace GUI installed. I thought it sounded awful until I got that installed. The Steel Series engine is trash other than giving you mic monitoring. Peace solved the audio quality issues. This headset sounds damn awesome.

I've actually never bought them before.
I love my arctis 7, I've had them for almost 4 years. No issues at all for me. Connect every time they are on and sound awesome. You need to download Peace GUI for them if you do plan on getting them. Seriously improves their audio.

I tried a similar kind of headset last week and ended up returning it due to how frequent I need to be able to take calls from my mobile also.

The Pro's check that box but are so expensive and also do not have USB-C that I think for now, I'm going to just hold off on looking further on the Arctis headsets until the update their line or lower the prices on the newer models.

For anyone tempted to try, Best Buy in store told me they do not price match to the manufacture's own price and would not match this model to $100. Maybe you'll have better luck at your local Best Buy if you prefer to have easier returns if you end up not liking them.

If you're just looking for a very solid gaming headset that works with PC or PS5, then these consistently rank very well for their specifically intended purpose.

An alternative to consider is the newly released Corsair HS80 which has USB-C and a flip down mic that auto mutes when flipped up vs the push in/pull out mic design of the Arctis headsets. Reviews put both headsets pretty close but slightly favoring the Corsair's overall and with the mic specifically.

I have read reviews and tried and returned a bunch of headsets like this style.

Maybe I'm expecting to much but I'm trying to find the perfect headset for all day use and comfort that has a crystal clear mic, USB-C and can be used for gaming, work/PC (Teams, Zoom) and phone calls via Bluetooth.

Gaming headsets seem to always be weaker in some key areas if you intend to use them for work purposes at home though and the business class UC style headsets likely make more sense if you do not care about gaming also, like I do.

I currently have the Poly/Plantronics Voyager UC 8200 headset and have to say, it is excellent in nearly ever way I specifically care about except for wireless via USB adapter on my PS5, it gets way to much interference for some reason at the same distance that is a non-issue when being used on my PC. I can easily connect the 3.5mm cable though to my PS5's DualSense controller to overcome that.
2.4ghz and even wires is far superior than BT for gaming. Single player, BT will be fine, but if you are doing anything that is highly dependent on the chat while in-game, you'll find it's shortcomings to be annoying. Better off buying a cheap pair of BT earbuds for gaming/calls if you want BT. The exception would be a dedicated BT dongle headset like the Arctis1 (the tradeoff being a less comfortable headset). Interested BT/wifi cards just aren't the best.
