About this deal:
At time of post, our research shows this 20V 1/4" Hex Cordless Impact Driver w/ 2.0Ah PWRCore 20 Lithium Battery and Charger is $35 lower (~ 44% savings) than the next available reputable merchant's price, starting at $79.99
The brushed skil stuff is just as you would expect brushed tools to be. Also the very limited line of skil tools makes me wish I hadn't bought a few of them . To me they are overpriced and they just make a hassle because I grab them from time to time by mistake looking for my Milwaukee gear
First time home owner. I'm looking at potentially building a small deck in the future (with help). I lack a cordless drill. Would this impact driver work well for wood screws?

This impact Driver is good for driving deck screws but as a new homeowner, ideally you'd probably want to own a Drill too.
I'd hold off for a deal on an impact and drill Combo. I don't know if Black Friday is too far away for you but they generally have good deals then.

No prob. And I'm not knocking this deal . It's just that Skil sells a very limited line of 20v tools and thru limited retailers. So if you're not already into their system, finding a Deal on Just the Skil drill could be tough.
The Skil 12v PowrCore Brushless drill is amazing. I bought one on a previous Slickdeal with the digital level for $45, and I feel that after a few uses it is quite potent, and there is a review on YouTube where it goes toe to toe with a Milwaukee M12 Hammer drill.
I jumped on the 12v circular saw, and would have bought the 12v open box drill for a friend if I'd seen it sooner, that is an amazing price with a battery/charger. The Skil 12v mechanics light is AWESOME for car stuff- has to be ordered by itself, but at $39 worth the price for its design, brightness, and color quality. I've used it for installing junction boxes and working on the car. It's my go to light, and Milwaukee has yet to make anything as versatile.

...Never mind. My Craftsman, which is so-so, has 1700 in-lb. This is a toy.
Agreed the Milwaukee m12 fuel does 1200.

Yep, this will work great at a decent price.
