Great RAM and no ridiculous LEDs is a huge plus. I'd buy for my 5800X if we weren't on the verge of DDR5.

So DDR5 timings for early adopters will be complete trash. Lot of people are saying a tightly timed set of 3600+ DDR4 will beat DDR5 on bench

Knowing Gskill is is most likely dual. Though these lose timings give me the impression of single rank 2GB ICs. Either Samsung C or Spectek.

Honestly it really does not matter unless your into overclocking.

That depends very much on the CPU architecture. With future CPUs being designed around ddr5 timing and clock speeds, ddr5 will likely be faster even relatively early on. For something like the Zen 3 series though it's probably a draw.

If it follows the DDR3 to DDR4 trend, then it will be a draw in the beginning, and with some time (maybe 6 months to a year) you will see some improvements worth mentioning.

But the margin of price to performance will be big until then.

Fair enough, but plenty of people spend lots on small improvements when it comes to ram, lol. Thus why you see so many clamoring to spend extra for 3600+MHz binned ram. Also, ddr5 is going to have bigger dimm sizes so you may well see competitive pricing per gb earlier than you'd think. Time will tell.

Before you all go trying to return/cancel the recent Crucial 3200Mhz deals, note the timing on these. If you don't know what you're doing (and for many of you, even if you do), stick with the Crucial CL16 3200Mhz sticks over these.

For Ryzen 5000 series processors 3600 CL18 is better than 3200 CL16 as it allows the infinity fabric to run at a higher speed. Otherwise the two kits should perform identically.
