Groupon offers Select Customers: $10 Starbucks eGift Card for $5.
Thanks to community member scotoco for finding this deal.
Note: This deal is by invite only. Only those who've received a designated notification are eligible to purchase this deal.
hmm..i bought 4 of these with multiple old registered accounts (dot trick). I was able to claim the cards on 3 accounts, but the 4th one never went through. It looks like they deleted or deactivated my accounts now, too. Unfortunate. Has this happened to anyone else?
Yeah, I had a couple accounts deactivated back in the day. As the previous poster said, I now use a different CC for each account.

$10 of Starbuck drinks are not even worth $5 value anyway! Way overpriced coffee from a place that's like every other block!
its worth it to me. there's a old man in my building, i think he's in his 70's. he has heart problems, but was too afraid to do the bypass surgery, so he opted for stents, which they dont do all at once, but incrementally, so he's been feeling weak and depressed. i've been taking him to starbucks every weekend to cheer him up and just so he has someone to talk to.
Panera has the worst coffee. I also don't see them making Frappuccinos.
I agree that it's not so great but it's free and when I go to a coffee place it's for the table and seat to get some work done or meet with friends and the coffee's just my way of "paying" for it. I almost never get takeout coffee as I don't see the point. I can make better at home and most workplaces have decent coffee these days. YMMV. And fraps are hyper-sweetened and kind of disgusting IMO. An ice coffee's almost always preferable.
that explains why there's so many terrible offers now. these businesses have to offset by increasing prices. i remember using groupon with friends over a decade ago at fancy restaurants when groupon just started. we would print out the offer and hand it to the person handling the reservations as you come in.
Yeah, now it's mostly people who can afford 25 cents on the dollar. So like Starbucks $10 gift card for $5, Starbucks gets $2.50. Sure they might lose some money from the deal, but they make TONS of money and even at 25% they're still probably breaking even.
Never understand why these Starbucks offers are invitation only.
None of my accounts are eligible. I think these are ONCE per GROUPON account only, but they dont say it clearly. I have bought this exact deal ONCE before on all our 4 Groupon accounts with the wife, and all the other times, (I think this is the 4th time) I am not eligible.
Now the deal being OPNCE per lifetime of groupon account is fine. Not saying it and using this as a free traffic generating tool from SD platform to Groupon is NOT cool.
