Definitely play the demo as it's a good representation of what the full game will be like. It will be that easy the whole way through, probably even easier once you get your class changes. From what I remember, aside from lack of multiplayer and slight change of combat, this is pretty faithful to the original game. I really enjoyed it but most likely because of nostalgia. I would recommend at $20, I bought it day 1 and don't regret it.

Played it and beat it on Switch. It’s a boring RPG and straight forward RPG with horrible voice acting.

It is a SNES game that was remade and stripped of coop.
That's a fact

I can't comment but I can say there is a demo on both platforms. PS4 performance seems vastly superior.
One is portable, one isn't, no comparison

I guess there's the Vita remote play option, though I've never tried this myself

I found my Vita recently and have been using it more than I thought I would, and this is the perfect type of game to use that for in case there is a bit of lag etc. I have gig internet and an Orbi mesh setup so fairly decent wifi and coverage around the house and it works great, but I still wouldnt use if for anything where timing is critical (been playing a lot of yakuza remotely lately).

Pretty sure it's been 15 and will be 15 again around November. I skipped it last time but will snag for 15 this time.

For $20 its good. Story is lacking /simple. It's a fun game to kill time in if you have nothing in your backlog to play otherwise I'd skip it.

game does not have local or multiplayer co-op, dealbreaker for me. The Collection of Mana version which has the first three games, the third being the original version of this game, has local player coop.
The lack of local co-op is unfortunate, yes, but aside that and a couple voice acting roles I didn't care for, this game is the gold standard for what a game remake should be. It takes everything that was good about the original, makes it better, and stays true to the original's story, maps, and party structure.

As a huge fan of the original for over two decades, I was immensely pleased at how the remake turned out, as it's a total blast. For players that want a more difficult experience, they can always play on Hard, and difficulty can be adjusted at just about any time. For true Hard mode, pick three characters that don't heal, and play the entire game healing with only items.

I agree, mostly. For me the main draw (possibly only draw) to the originals is the multiplayer. SD3 is my favorite SNES game whereas I didn't even bother buying this remake. I did get the collection of mana, however.

Even if they had made 2 player require two carts and two switches it would've been a day one purchase.

Unless you refuse to play the game without another player, and you like the original Seiken Densetsu 3, then I think you'll have lots of fun with the remake. The refinements to the battle system, abilities, New Game+, and post-game content are all wonderful additions, and the different perspective felt appropriate as well.

I understand the disappointment about the lack of co-op, but IMO it's a much better single player experience than the original game.

It's not bad, just don't expect anything too different from the old snes version, it's pretty much a fun 3d version of that. So the story is lacking, but it holds up against snes jrpg stories i guess. I'm playing it on hard, and even then it's not super difficult. And i am really bad at the video games. So probably play it on hard.

Like a dragon. Works great for running around the city, battles and just doing misc things here and there etc. The text is near impossible to read but the fact anything important is voiced helps a lot.
