Tractor Supply has this small inverter generator on sale. Price seems great as compared to other places that sell the same model.

Not unless your charger only draws ~ 6.5A or so which would be around the 800W continuous.

The 120V level 1 Nissan Leaf charger is intended for a 15A wall outlet and draws something like 12A. I believe that won't work. Perhaps if you have a charger with a selectable charging rate, then yes but that's not what most people tend to have.

If you're looking to get a generator to charge your EV, a) figure out what draw you need and b) note that level 1 charging is SLOWWWW! I did a quick Google search and it's something like 5 miles of range per hour of charge on Level 1 which is usually more for overnight or when it's going to be parked for a while and you're just topping off slowly. You might have a better experience using a public charging station instead.

Assuming that there is no 120 VAC load connected to the UPS, the charging circuit for the 12 VDC battery in the UPS is less than 1 amp or approximately a 12 watts load to the 1000 watt Sportsman Inverter Generator.

Sure your not talking about the next size up like a 2000?

Simple math on 800 running wattage 800÷120= 6.67 amps.
1000 peak watts 1000÷120= 8.33 amps

What full size fridge freezer has that low of starting amperage? It's usually 2.5-3X running amps. Generally 13-17 amps starting for a decent non apartment fridge freezer. So this may do a mini fridge

Just trying to save people from buying this thinking it will do that based on the math. Otherwise I'm sure its good.
Tried two of these, reviewed the second on YouTube. Generator lottery at best. First one leaked oil slowly, second didn't support anywhere near the rated load. Returned both.

There seem to be good ones out there if you dig into the community commentary, but be ready to swap until you get one.

Inverter refrigerators don't need much amperage at startup vs typical refrigerators.

Have had this same model for 2 years now. Love it for short power outages here. Runs our full size fridge/freezer fine. Pretty much the only thing we run from it aside from few lights.

Great video. I would say they are trying create a replacement for the small 2stroke version.
That's actually a tall order because those little noise makers can put out some watts!

Could be referring to a fridge with a linear compressor. I have one of those, can confirm low startup and very generator friendly. Also no "clunk" when the compressor kicks on. Google linear compressor fridge and you'll find out more.

Mine is made by LG, bought in 2012, have used it with my 2kW inverter generator and you'd never know it kicked on. Contrast with my chest freezer, generator throttles up when the freezer compressor has to kick on.
