This configuration cannot be shipped to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont or Washington due to power consumption regulations. Any orders placed that are bound for those states will be canceled. Shop our CEC compliant configurations here.
I'm going to start a business where I ship these to people in cali. Lmao
5700XT is not going to hold value over a 3080 once crypto market settles down.

It's still there. You probably need to do this on a computer, not mobile. Under products, go to desktops, then Alienware…it'll list all of the Alienware desktops. The just pick one that does not have the restriction (they list the restrictions right under 'colors').

I purchased this 3 months back with the 1000w psu and liquid cooler.
FYI
1- Make sure you get the right ram because it is almost impossible to upgrade.
2- The R10 is really really really loud. I mean the fans.
3- If you planning to add Gen 4 nvme ssd. Forget it. It will lower the speed down to gen3 even though the R10 manual says it's gen4
2. For the RAM, I believe it is easier to just completely replace. You can just stick new sticks and don't have to match exactly.

I tried to 3 different brands and none of profiles saved worked out of the box. I had to enter speeds manually. After spending a whole day testing, Cl18 3466hz is the best it can do. Anything faster and pc will crash.

After watching a video on the actual internals of these computers.. I'll never buy one. They're extremely poorly constructed and the parts are not intended to last. It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad that Alienware is actually trying to pass these off as gaming stations.
Yeah Dell has become an absolute joke of a desktop manufacturer. Some of the teardowns I've seen are shocking.

I did. I had to go to website and download the latest version. because alienware update was not showing there's newer update.
You have experience with upgrading R10? Were you able to do better speeds?

I think most of the components used in R10 are acceptable. The motherboard is trash. Heat management and fans could be better and quieter.

I want to build one for 950 (preferably MXN pesos) too. With RTX 3080 of course.

Your PC must be amazing. Thank you so much for your feedback.

Disappointed I missed the ASUS deal a bit back, and am looking for the best in these times at around the $1k price point. Anyone know of a current deal I'm missing?

Would the base configuration of this at just over $1k be that bad given the typical pricing and supply challenges these days? The power supply seems disappointing, but at least upgradeable? Otherwise the CPU and GPU seem acceptable for the price(?).

Good luck!
Jon
Which asus deal BB or walmart?
If you are talking about the walmart deal, It sometimes comes back in stock week to week. I purchased one 2 weeks ago before it was posted on SD a few times, and it was in stock on Monday, but now out of stock again.
Just keep checking back for in stock.
That $1000 Asus PC may also have ventilation issues for gaming, & the GPU is in a lot lower class than this PC at $1700. The cpu is a toss up :5700g vs 5600x, with 5600x being better, and a much faster newer 3080 gpu compared to a last gen 2060super in the other.
But that's what a $700 savings looks like..
SD always has similar deals every couple weeks with similar cpus (ryzen 5 5600x/ ryzen7 5700g) range of $900 to $1200 deals on Desktop PCs but usually with RTX 3060s.
