I have the Irwin version of this and it works great for most wire (some outdoor wires with multiple layers of sheathing throw it off). It occasionally goes for about $15. If you don't need one right away, it might be a good idea to wait for a name brand unit.

I have the Irwin version also. Not my favorite wire stripper but works well.

So what if SD is promoting something?
The "so what?" is this isn't a deal at all. A quick search on Amazon for "automatic wire strippers" brings up a bunch of items in this price range, including this same exact item under different names, one of which is $1 less than the OP without any coupon. Yet another is half the price of the OP with a coupon code!

And that's to say nothing of the fact these are Aliexpress specials with "brands" spat out of a name generator.

HF $9.99 [harborfreight.com], works great

If you want an awesome wire stripper the Ideal Stripmaster [lowes.com] is hands down the best I've ever used. It's more expensive of course but "buy once cry once".

For me it's a matter of cluttering up the board. Time is limited. I want to see actual hot deals, not so-so deals being pushed to the hot board by shills.

I also use the irwin almost everyday. I do like the fact that this one has a metal depth guide. The yellow plastic one on the irwin breaks off if you look at it too hard. For $13 you can't go wrong. Thanks OP (even if it is a SD affiliate... who cares?)

There was a time I was warned about posting about a deal because it had less than a couple of 100 reviews. Things have come a long way with SD becoming an ethic-less marketing website.

In the very short time I've been using AND contributing to SD, I've come across a number of Comments sniping at SD posts that are assumed to be more Advertisement than Deal.

And I've never spoken-up about those snipy Comments, until now:

So what if SD is promoting something?

There's still plenty of Home Grown, User-posted legit Deals to be had.

And don't forget: SD is free to use, with zero obligation for you to contribute.

You think a Post is a Shill?

Great. Comment with that, "I think this is a shill post."

And let SD be SD.

You've got a legit Deal you found recently?

Then please share with others .... and not Comment, "Yeah, I bought those three days ago at that price."

..... if you found them on clearance three days ago, why didn't you Post that here, on SD, three days ago?

😐

(Dropping my mic)
Yeah, let Goldman make some money...they have to keep the lights on somehow.

BTW I have no problem with criminalizing marketing. Advertising is something I never pay attention to and always needlessly drives up the cost of an item. I feel that the more the advertising the worse the product.
