Verizon has the Google Home Hub on sale for $44.99 with free shipping. Great little device and the ambient screen makes it nice for displaying photos. Cheapest I was able to find new from a retailer.

Just bought the Hub and out of the box it works with my Nest cam but not my Wyze cam. From what I have seen on the internet, there is not an way to make it work with wyze cam, although Google Home does work with the wyze cam.

Yes, both V2 and V3 are compatible.

It works but not very well. Very slow to connect - 20 seconds?. Disconnects after ~4 minutes or so.
The nest cam pro I have connects immediately and doesn't seem to have a stream limit.

For my parents, I have my father setup the device and share a generic photo album and share it with his 4 children. We then have permissions to add and remove our own photos from the album. He sets his parameters on the Google Home device, such as how fast it scrolls through photos etc. He also sets his Google Home so that it only references the shared album he made. Us kids can simply drop photos into the shared album and remove old ones as we see fit -- Of course we are all on the android / google train. I do have to remind my sisters to 'clear our old photos' sometimes so that the album doesn't contain 1000+ photos. Too many photos takes too long to scroll through.

This has worked perfectly thus far. So $45 bucks for a digital photo frame that allows family to contribute without the need for a USB stick is pretty great IMIO.

You create a Google "Home" and can invite multiple Google accounts to be a home member

No, it doesn't work as a typical android tablet would. Think of it as a tablet that only runs Google Assistant. It will open other apps though, such as YouTube, YouTube Music, etc. Just apps to play media for the most part, but none of them are "installable" and you can't add more than what it comes with.

From my understanding, they are the exact same. I remember when they first changed the name, Google went so far as to put stickers over the original packaging to get the, "Nest" rebrand kicked off quickly across all of their product lineup.

EDIT: I must be thinking about something entirely different because I just did some googling and, apparently, the Nest Hub is claimed to have 50% more bass and a cleaner audio experience than the Home Hub. My apologies for the misinformation

EDIT EDIT: I was partially right and partially wrong. when Google rolled out the, "Nest" rebrand, they were putting stickers over the Google Home Hub boxes but that was the 1st gen model. The 2nd gen model has the audio improvements. So, the Google Home Hub and the Nest Hub are the exact same device. the Nest Hub 2nd gen is the only model with the audio improvements

I think 2nd gen was rebranded to Nest Hub. I have both versions but what is the difference between 1st and 2nd gen?

Try the Chalk color to see the price. Charcoal is not on sale.

The Google Home Hub did in fact rebrand to Google Nest Hub with no hardware changes. Then, some time after that, a 2nd Gen Nest Hub was released.

Anyone else get charged an extra $45 or so by Verizon after submitting their order?

My order went through and the email confirm is the $45 price plus tax and a local ewaste fee whch is about $52 in total (correct amount). Then less than 5 mins later I have a second charge go through on my card for $45.48.
