Agreed, I happen to love it, but not everyone does
I think despite its story quirks, it's nigh impossible to follow up Final Fantasy 7 - 10 in terms of being memorable experiences. 10 is the swan song of epic-storied, grandiose turn-based RPGs.
12 does it's best to push the genre forward and, in some ways, it does succeed; however, if you're hoping to continue the journey you had with all of the prior FF games, temper your expectations and it's worth $11 for sure.
13 isn't. I'd argue 15 isn't either, but I played before they "fixed" it, whatever that means.

The remaster adds x4 speed toggle and it changes the game completely, I rarely had it turned off and played the game to completion.

I played all the way through on ps2, but only thing I remember was the bounties/hunts/whatever and fran😂 ff games are usually more memorable
