Actually jean shorts for men have become fashionable again [gq.com]. However, jean shorts are definitely one of the few men's fashions that has not proven to be evergreen. Unless you are particularly fashion conscious (meaning you'll know when to rotate these out) you'd do well to skip on this one because at this stage in the trend (given that men's jean shorts are just an echo of the revival of women's jean shorts and other y2k fashion) we're likely returning to a normal state where jean shorts, like cargo pants or fanny packs, identify your age/demographic/un-hipness more than your ability to stay on trend. (In case you didn't notice, both fanny packs and cargo pants have also made comebacks but also both in ways which could clearly allow people to delineate between, say, modern fanny-pack fashionistas and "geez, dad, put that thing back in the attic!")

Men's Levi's jeans that aren't too baggy or too skinny? Timeless. Jean shorts?
