Seems like a decent price for 4k 144hz specs. Owning a PS5 and not having HDMI 2.1 is a killer for me though. But great if all you want to do is displayport.

I wish their were more HDMI 2.1 Monitors, and shown in the title. I seen plenty of people wondering if this monitor works with current gen etc... I mean every monitor will work, just if you want that 4k 144hz, you need HDMI 2.1

I think purchasing an open box or refurbished monitor greatly increases your chances of getting a dead pixel because that's the number one reason why the monitors are getting returned. I usually buy 2 or 3 of them, find one that works properly and then return the rest.

If you're owner of a PS5, still probably not much difference in reality. PS5 supports 4K 120hz output and you need HDMI 2.1 to get that output to a display. Older HDMI doesn't have enough bandwidth. I'm not sure how many games display in native 4K 120hz, probably most are upscaled, but regardless, its a pain point to know you can't theoretically output 4K 120 Hz. So for the sake of matching the PS5's output potential, its important but not necessary for a monitor to have an matching HDMI 2.1 input.

My advice for people looking at a 4k monitor, would be to up to 32 inches. I have 4k monitor at 27 inches, and it was a mistake to purchase. The pixel density is too high to notice at 27 inches, 32 inches is ideal. Just my 2 cents.

I have a 4k monitor at 28inches, wasnt a mistake to purchase. Just my 1 cent.

I have it right next to my 1440p 27inches.
I can see the difference In higher pixel density and more colors with a 10bit color panel. Diminishing returns tho.

almost... but i have a feeling that in a year or less there will much more 4k 120+hz monitors available thanks to the ps5 and xbox, this would be perfect at around 36-40 inches imo

HDMI 2.1 is vastly overrated. 4K 144hz works on DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC support or 2 displayport cables. Neither PS5 nor XBox One X are powerful enough to render triple A titles at 144Hz on 4K anyways.

This means you are left with a PC, which can be sufficed by DisplayPort 1.4.

I own this monitor ...well not exactly, I have the XV273K whereas this model is the XB273K, but they are identical other than the XV is the freesync (AMD native and nvidia compatible) model and the XB is the gsync model (nvidia native).

This monitor is a GREAT value if all you're looking for is 4K @144Hz for a good price. Getting 4K at 144Hz used to be prohibitively expensive ($1000+, but prices are now coming down for this part of the market, which is great for everyone. That said if you care about the other secondary features of a monitor, this model does cut a lot of corners. Here are some:

1. It's DisplayPort 1.4, which does NOT technically support 4K@144Hz. DP 1.4 supports up to 32.4 Gbps, which is only enough for 4K@120Hz. Therefore to get to 4K@144Hz you have two options: (1) compress to 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, or (2) use TWO DP 1.4 cables (this not an option on this XB273K model because it only has a single DP 1.4 port). So although the panel itself technically supports [email protected] really only supports 4K@120Hz in practice beucase the display interface bottlenecking it. This kinda false advertisement, but in Acers defense, there isn't a whole lot they can do about this (DP 2.0 wasn't really ready for primetime when this monitor originally launched...and we the glorious PC mustard race do not talk about closed stupid standards like HDMI). Also the XV273K model (which is generally cheaper anyway) has the option of using two cables to get to 4K@144Hx (though again, this is not an option on the this XB273K as far as my knowledge goes).
2. HDR 400 technically falls under the HDR official spec, but it is the worst implementation of HDR, and most people argue that it really shouldn't qualify as HDR (and I agree). You can read about this here: https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles...eeds-to-go
3. Big bezels. This monitor has pretty hefty bezels by today's standard. Up to you if this bothers you--this is ultimately an "entry level" 4K@144Hz montior.
4. Color accuracy is fair. Creatives would say its BAD, but as a gaming monitor it is quite good. Depends on your perspective, it is an IPS monitor.

So overall, it's a great value and I'm glad Acer made this monitor (I own one!), but know what you're buying.

I agree. But they marketed these game systems as that power. Which we all know is BS. But on the PS5 box I think its said 8k. Like that ever going to happen lol.

Ordered one when this post went up, and since I live in Texas I got it today! I have to say it looks great! It looks brand new to me. Will have to wait and see how it holds up, but I am hopeful. Also the stand it came with is nicer than I thought, but that could be that I just didnt realize it was a nice stand in the first place. I will say it only comes with one DP cable, and its a 1.2 at that. I have 2 1.4 cables coming in tomorrow from amazon so hopefully I can see the full 144hz out of it. So far I am super happy with this monitor especially given the price.
