These simple, yet effective push block grippers are on sale at Amazon (Through Peachtree, which is one of the better online outlets.) They may not be an expensive gripper (or joked about in WWFMM videos) but it's just a gripper. I'm sure I'll tweak them a bit, as I always tend to do. So, I figured, I'd let you all in on the deal if you want it. Smilie

I wanted to know what these would even be used for. Woodworking is the answer if anyone else was curious.

I was maybe 10 when I watched my father cut off the tips of 2 fingers on the jointer because the work began chattering and he reached to steady it.

I'm a woodworker, too, but you bet I'm always thinking safety. If you own a jointer or a router table, you need these.

Good deal if you've got a jointer, router table, etc. and need push blocks or you regularly work ripping larger pieces of material on a table saw. One thing to keep in mind with these is that they won't really be that useful for smaller cuts on a table saw. You want 3 points of pressure on the table saw (down, forward, against the fence) when using the rip fence to make straight, precise cuts, and that generally means you need contact on the piece that is traveling between the fence and the blade. This push block is 3 1/4" wide, which limits its utility when ripping.

If you need them it is certainly a better buy. Two of them look useless to me.

I have a micro jig and haven't used it in 5 years. I use two pushblocks like these (but half the price) for my jointer, and two different once for my table saw.
The micro jig requires you to take the blade guard off; which I don't like to do, even though I have a sawstop.

These are foam pads with a grippy bottom. Mine have already torn off the grippy part. The micro jig ones are the best but I bet this new deal is just as good

These are fine for the jointer or non-through cuts on a table saw.

But for through cuts on a table saw, only the microjig (or close facsimile) will control both pieces all the way through the cut preventing kickbacks and keeping your hand elevated above the blade.

I agree, but Im advising if you are to spend your money, get the micro-jig or similar. Buy once, cry once.
