Chewy currently has a promotion for a free Litter Genie Plus with the purchase of select Fresh Step litter. The cheapest eligible litter is Fresh Step Clean Paws Scented [chewy.com] for $13.79.

I've used the litter Genie (normal, not plus) for a few months now. I use Pine Pellet litter and it works great for me. some people don't have a great experience using it with clumping litter, some do. I think getting for one for free with the purchase of litter is a pretty solid deal.

Regarding replacement bags, I had great luck using amazon warehouse. I got 4 pack of (sealed) refills for $8 instead of $27. I've been using the same refill for a little over 2 months now with two kittens and pine litter (I do only scoop solids though).

Same here. I thought it was a joke when my mother in law gave us 1. Sat in the garage for almost a year until I decided to check it out. After that I am hooked and my cat is happier too with a clean box all day long. I have the regular size litter genie and the 4 gallon trash bags fit great. I use the litter genie bag as just a chute so 1 insert lasts a year plus lol

This seems like a ridiculous thing, especially if you have to buy special bags for it. Just clean the cat box before you take the garbage out, then take the garbage out. Or put them in separate old grocery bags and take them out when needed

I don't know what you're feeding him, but maybe try a high-quality grain-free food like Blue Buffalo Wilderness. Our cat's poop stinks a lot less now that we switched. The food isn't cheap, but it's BOGO at Kroger every now and then and we stock up.

THIS. Seems unnecessary and something else to take up space. You could probably use an old cat litter bucket and do the same thing. Although i have piles of saved up used meat and produce bags I use to dispose of used litter.

explain how this is a game changer? It's nothing more than a trash can that you need to keep stuffing with trash bags. Just more plastic that will end up in landfills.

I use a 2-gallon foot-pedal trash can lined with a standard shopping bag to hold litter. The litter dries out the moisture which is the usual source of smells, so scooping clumps into the bin doesn't lead to smell problems, especially with the closed lid. Litter Genie for us solves a problem that doesn't exist.

Remember, razor companies could also give away the handle for free and still make a killer profit off the blades.

I have 3 cats now and have had up to 5 at once. No litter brand or gimmick works better than emptying the box everyday. It's sucks but you gotta do it.

This litter however is decent. I prefer tidy cats because it smells better for longer.

The refills for that thing is expensive. I just buy doggy poop bags and scoop once daily. I use A&H Slide litter and there is virtually no dust plus the smell is low. I have fostered and rescued kitties for 5 years now and have tried almost every litter plus litter genies. They always ended up in the garbage. (I got like 6 of them over the years from promos) . Good for the people who like them but I feel like its just a gimmick to sucker people into the refills which is where they make the money from.

Thank you!! I was just thinking of getting a replacement one - I love mine, I clean the boxes everyday and it holds it for me until trash day with no odor. Smart ideas from others regarding the replacement bags. Also stock up on those during sale b/c they're not going to go bad!
