I haven't seen a RTX 3080 or 6800 XT desktop at <$1600 range for a long time, so figure I will share this. I would love to pick up a 3080 pre-built for similar price but until that deal shows up, this is as good as it gets.

This is liquid cooled which should help with a relatively compact case. 6800XT itself is also more power efficient than 3080. IMO this case is not good for a i7 and 3080, but for 5600x and 6800XT, it should work fine as long as you don't overclock it.

Possible Upgrades: +$180 for 3080
Possible Downgrades: -$355 to downgrade power supply and get 6700XT ($1349 for 6700XT is a very strong deal).

Ram and SSD you can get on your own.

Overall 6800XT is slightly faster than 3080 in traditional games, but falls behind significantly in ray tracing and DLSS. Whether this is worth $180 is up to you.

This configuration cannot be shipped to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont or Washington due to power consumption regulations.

You may want to include the 3080 GPU in the title

What is considered a good prebuilt brand on Slickdeals?

All the deals this holidays will be around prebuilts. Won't be able to buy one of these at MSRP any time soon.
I actually had a decent CyberpowerPC experience. I got a great deal on a prebuild almost 3 years ago that came with a 2700x and a Gigabyte 2070 Windforce 3x. I was happy with the performance for just shy of $1000. Those were the old days though... When prebuild prices made sense...

I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap for it but I'd go with ABS, CyberpowerPC, iBuyPower, or Skytech over Alienware/Dell any day. They might not be top notch brands but at least that way you can more easily take and replace components. Or even swap out the case. And these brands don't come with crappy OEM GPUs.

The Aurora cases are heavy, clunky, and a huge pain to open/replace/alter. I spent a lot of time opening mine and trying to improve the cooling with additional fans. But it's so tight and restricted in there.

The other option, if you're serious about wanting to make a PC, is to consider entering the Newegg Shuffle every time. I've entered ~65 times and won twice (3060ti and 3080).

Or there is the painful route. You could join and track a GPU stock Discord. It takes a lot of diligence. But in a few months I managed to get a 3080 and two 6700XTs at MSRP from BestBuy (without using a buying bot - only a discord group's stock bot).

The market sucks and I've been trying to get as many cards for friends as possible. Whatever route you take will probably be pretty rough. Good luck.

Nice job showing how the internet is a cesspool of misinformation. GN review and teardown videos of the prebuilts explicitly state that they purchased all the units with their own funds under pseudonyms so that the manufacturers did not have any idea it was Gamers Nexus.

Here is the video where the R10 is reviewed. They talk about all the test methodology, etc.

They also set themselves up for failure by getting a ridiculously bad configuration and not choosing an aio. It's a valid point that Dell sells a lot of system configurations that are a complete scam, but that doesn't mean an informed buyer can't get a respectable deal, which in this environment if you need a computer is about the best you can ask for.

Do not buy this. Case is terrible. Components are terrible, Dell OEM GPU is terrible...

I can't steer people away from these enough. I had an R12 for months and couldn't have been more disappointed. The 3080 in mine ran super hot, the case was in incredibly heavy/clunky, and the fans sounded like jet turbines.
Don't do it.
My R12had liquid cooling and has been good so far with I711XXX and 3080. With the CPU cooler having to be low profile and the PSU mount closing in right on top of it, I don't think there is a air cooled CPU system that would be good enough for the alienware case.

I had the AIO liquid cooled 11700kf. It was still loud. And the GPU still ran super hot. I tried to find out how to get more intake and outtake to remove that hot air in there faster. It was a little better - after I replaced the intake fan and added a second. The next steps were to replace/add GPU thermal paste/pads and create a push/pull fan combo for the AIO. But I didn't want to possibly void the warranty. And you shouldn't have to do that. It was way too much work for way too little benefit.

The gamers Nexus review is pretty damning of Dell ...
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8ul...e=youtu.be
TLDW:. No airflow, fake watercooling, proprietary non-upgradeable swill ..

But - honestly - say that this DOES come with water cooling ... any good?

nice job with reading comprehension. I didn't say they got a whole r10 for free, the guy reviewing it did not order it with he liquid cooling, and seemed incredulous that it arrived without liquid cooling. Like guy, it's on the order form, are you so incompetent that you missed it or what?

Does anyone have information or a review about the actual water-cooled version?

I have an R10 with a 3070 and the "high-performance CPU liquid cooling w/550W power supply" from earlier this year - have had 0 issues with it, it's been running almost 24/7 since purchasing in March. Been monitoring temps and everything seems very normal but YMMV.

You might want to research before taking the plunge 🤣

Also, the 6600xt is pretty easy to come by.

Is it Me or has Dell made this brand lame? Kinda how GM made Aston Martin lame.

Beware of dell. If you are not in the contiguous United States they will not honor their warranty.
