What do you really need to cut with a miter saw that requires the extra capacity of a slider?
I'm considering this if only because the Craftsman isn't as accurate as I'd like and takes a lot of setup. Which is why I'm also looking at table saws instead.
They should get rid of these stands permanently.
I have the double bevel dewalt and opted for the Rigid rolling stand for better portability and space saving. It's on sale semi regularly as well
Just my opinion but I had a sliding ryobi and sold it cheaply with plans to replace it with non sliding. The extra space sounds minor but meant alot given my setup. Also the sliding was very inaccurate. Once I got a table saw it made even less sense. FWIW I got a relatively cheap table saw also so not cheap vs expensive.

If you are a DIY'er this is a great tool, but you will eventually be hindered by the cutting capacity 6 maybe 8 inches in diameter doesn't cover a lot of project boards, and you will wish you had sprung for the SLIDING miter saw.
The price on the dewalt slider is a sting but you'll find you can do more jobs at the saw as a single station.
By that time you outgrow this you'll realize how simple of a tool a chop saw is (how hard they are to mess up), you'll probably be fine with getting the ryobi slider for cheaper and it will still feel like an upgrade.
Get the rolling stand when it goes on sale , something like $99 around Black Friday.
You can still throw the saw on the bed of a truck, on a table or on the ground. The rolling stand is far better to move around (shed to garage to site) even if you have to put it into the back of a truck. Plus the stand works for heavier pieces of equipment such as the planer (which is massively heavy).
Because the cost was minor, I picked up the rolling stand and use it far more than the stand. The stand is gathering webs TBH
