I'm wondering same thing. This didn't get much feedback.
Depends on the model and price point. I have several including the model up, the Club One. The Sony comparable is supposedly a little better but is never available at big discounts. One thing is check the weight. The Club One is heavy. That said, the sound is exceptional. Bottom line is determine what you want to spend first. I bought the Club One on an eBay auction recently for just a little bit more.
I had these, great sound but solid noise cancelation, could be better for the feel. The quality of them feel great and they are by far the heaviest headphones I've ever had, about 2 weeks ago they stopped working and charging so i took them to bestbuy and used my protection plan. I bought these in april this year and now i exchanged and paid additional costs for the sony wh1000. Huge difference in noise cancelation between these 2.
I've had multiple models of both. Sony has better ANC generally. Sound is different and subject to preference - both are good. JBL has better build quality, and I have found Sony models somewhat delicate. JBL has better warranty service if the headphones break - JBL support is quite good.
