Good stuff!!!! I bought one as I wanna see if it's worth the hype. If not it'll get returned. I'm slowly going to replace all my Google stuff as it's tiring how much it listens and starts interjecting itself.
Snagged one. Chase freedom has its Q4 5% Cash back points for Walmart
Years ago you were probably right but for mundane tasks like turning the hue lights on/off Siri listens more often than Google. Google will make the audible Tone then pretend like it didn't hear me. And with Siri on a remote it's so easy to say what you wanna watch it eliminates app fatigue. Siri in the car takes me where I need to go and plays whatever I say. Don't sleep on Siri.

Thanks for sharing! Note for anyone considering using a HomePod mini as a computer speaker, unfortunately the HomePod has a 3-second delay when playing most things, such as music, Youtube, etc. I was thinking of picking up one and using as a single speaker, but this issue alone has convinced me otherwise.
Sold mine last month after having it for almost a year. I liked it overall besides some issues I had with it.
I got mines at launch with the intention to set up a wireless speaker system with the og bigger HomePods and once they discontinued those last December this mini one seemed pointless.
The sound is good and Siri works well but it's not good enough if you intend to make them your main speakers in anyway shape or form especially with the audio lag/latency

Siri functionality pales in comparison vs. Google... be prepared to be disappointed.

I had the same plan but ended up returning mine because Siri would prefer homepod in the bathroom on the other side of the house than the phone in my hand. 😞

How does it interject itself based on what it hears?

Google keeps telling me one of my devices isn't set up when. it'll it to turn off all the lights, but it doesn't say which, it's driving me nuts. Unfortunately since I have the nest doorbell though it's the only assistant that tells who is at the door. I much prefer the HomePods, just not as many devices are HomeKit compatible without a home bridge server.
