If you have a URL or email that you used to contact them directly, please post so others can keep it in case they need it in future.
PS: They should know very well by now that Amazon doesn't handle RMA warranty issues for vendors other than their own return window applicable to any product. The fact that they still insist people go via Amazon does not sound like good faith dealing to me.
With Windows, use Macrium Reflect or AOMEI backup free versions
With Linux, use clonezilla
With Macs, use Carbon Copy or Super Duper.
The biggest issue is if you can have both the new drive and the old drive attached at the same time internally or via an external enclosure to clone. Depends on your machine. If not, you will have to do a back up elsewhere, replace the drive and restore.

i have 1TB and 500gb 2.5". i guess i'm screwed if i ever need warranty.
It has nothing to do with the CPU itself, but motherboards of the older vintage cpus typically never had the nvme drivers to allow booting from them, but these can be used as secondary drives with the OS providing the drivers automatically once booted.
The 2.5 SATA drives should work fine.
