it works. I have XPS 8930 and replaced micron's 256GB (which came with the desktop) with this 1TB. Has been working well.

What.. zero support after the sale? Go through the vendor? No thanks, any manufacturer with that policy is a no go

It was up at the time I posted. Must have disappeared again by the time you checked. It's back again now, though the 20% off sale is over :\

Thanks. Yes, I see it back there again. But for the full $250, yikes.

They replaced the 20% off coupon with a $5 off coupon.

Ordered mine yesterday and it arrived this morning 7am.

Is this supposed to come in a plastic bag? It doesn't even look like an SSD. It has zero markings on it and it's black. I feel like Amazon shipped me a fake.

Edit: It was a black case full of sand.

You must work for SK hynix. I'll take a refund for this case of sand thank you.

My assumption is this was a return that someone marked as new, and it went back on the shelf as is.

Here's some Amazon reviews for you:

Was the RMA request on their site via email or is there a web page? If the latter, then it would be useful to mention that in every SK Hynix thread so people can bypass the futile Amazon contact. They used to have a web page that wasn't well known to submit an RMA but they removed that a few months ago. Wondering if they brought it back.

If you have a URL or email that you used to contact them directly, please post so others can keep it in case they need it in future.

PS: They should know very well by now that Amazon doesn't handle RMA warranty issues for vendors other than their own return window applicable to any product. The fact that they still insist people go via Amazon does not sound like good faith dealing to me.

Sorry for the late reply, but I initially started by contacting them from their website (Linky [freshdesk.com]). They advised me to contact Amazon 1st.

I've bought a couple of these (m.2) and been happy. The item should arrive in tan cardboard packaging only. (slightly lighter than regular cardboard boxes, as I recall). SK makes a point of highlighting their environmentally friendly processes - less plastic to throw away, etc.

For copy software, if you don't want to download macrium off the web, sk has their cloning software posted on their website for download.

Performance wise, anandtech and toms hardware have both benchmarked these. The m.2's are among the fastest pci-e 3.0 ssd's around (except optane and top end samsung), and give a few 4.0 drives a run for their money in many tests. These are especially good at short term write speeds vs a number of other drives.
For the sata drives, it benches very similar to the crucial mx500 drives.

SK advises all their drives support hardware encryption, though you have to wrangle windows to confirm you're using it, if you would prefer that over software encryption.
